Far from being gloomy, The Tale of Despereax is a book that celebrates courage in believing in yourself, honor, redemption, kindness, compassion and forgiveness. Everyone is not nice or good, but some people or mice are exceptionally good and honorable. The book is paced perfectly there were many nights we all wanted to just keep reading and reading!
