First, the writing style is stilted, stale and skims along the surface. They aren’t my typical cup of tea or I would’ve probably rated this a little higher.
A mature woman who could, even if it was effing awful, be able to care for herself. Rovere treats his delicate new bride abysmally and she loathes and fears him. Books by Bertrice Small. There’s a few parts that get a little slow and time goes by very quickly, but overall I really enjoyed it.
You may find this book uncomfortable to read, I know that I did.

The dialogue does not flow in a natural way. To Tame a Wild Lady. Too bad her male characters don’t have more um, character! This title was on my TBR for quite a while, and I’ve decided to have it begin my goal of reading all of Bertice Small’s books.

Also a lapse of 3 to five years was mentioned only as “the seasons continued to change” and you find out 50 pages later that that meant 5 years.

I just don’t get the attraction to the popular plot she uses. First, the writing style is stilted, stale and skims along the surface. It biajca be a good start to a new series. There were entire areas of the plotline which could have made for beautiful, rich, intriguing plotline which could have really set up each and every cha I actually liked it overall.
Over time, the two smapl in love. There is a slave girl thrown into the mix whereby she is forced to have sex against her will with another woman and she comes very close to being violated by a miniature donkey.
